Lelon Russell Bulluck Jr., 79, of Kill Devil Hills, died February 28, 2020 at Chesapeake Regional Medical Center.
Born in Rocky Mount on July 30, 1940, he was the son of the late Alma Belle Stancil Bulluck and Lelon R. Bulluck Sr. Lee graduated from Rocky Mount Senior High Schools in 1958.
Lee was a veteran of the United States Air Force, having served his country honorably in several posts including Pakistan. He then began a long career with the United States Postal Service in Rocky Mount, retiring as regional manager in Minneapolis, Minnesota. Lee also served as a Master Mason in the Freemasons and earned the 33 degree in the Scottish Rite in Rocky Mount.
As a member of Outer Banks Baptist Church, Lee served as a member of the choir and then as its director for a number of years. As a member of Gideons International, Lee was very active and served a number of positions in the Outer Banks Chapter.
Mr. Bulluck is survived by children Russ Bulluck (his wife, Laura), Rhonda Gupton and Ruth Rountree (her husband, Scott); grandchildren Jeremy Gupton (his wife, Skyler), Josh Gupton (his wife, Allison), Russell Bulluck, James Bulluck and Victor Rountree; and two great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends and relatives for a viewing and visitation on March 2 from 6-8 p.m. at Twiford Colony Chapel, 500 Budleigh Street, Manteo. A funeral will be held at 10 a.m. on March 3 at Twiford Colony Chapel with Rev. John Rowland officiating. A graveside committal service with military honors will take place at 12 p.m. on March 4 at Rocky Mount Memorial Park, 4454 Dortches Blvd, Rocky Mount officiated by Rev. Joe Price.
