Heather Payne, care partner in the Emergency Department,  was named The Outer Banks Hospital’s January 2020 Employee of the Month.

She joined The Outer Banks Hospital in May, 2017 as a CNA II and became a care partner after completing additional training and education.

According to TOBH, the most frequently used term to describe Payne is proactive. She anticipates the needs of patients and her team members and is willing to do anything to help. She goes above and beyond what is expected. Her team members look forward to working with her because her hard work and fun personality brightens the day and makes any shift run more smoothly.

Payne’s “compassion and integrity are obvious in the way she does the right thing, the right way, no matter who is watching or not watching,” state a press release from TOBH. “She always has a great attitude and comes to work ‘ready to roll.’ Always smiling, Payne has the ability to make you laugh when you want to cry.”

Upon hearing that she had been chosen as the Employee of the Month, Payne stated, “It was nice to hear all the wonderful things my colleagues said about me. I love working here with the people I work with. I feel proud to be a part of this team and the OBH family.”
