Participation in the marine biology/oceanography academic competition is sponsored/funded through East Carolina University and NOSB.

The MHS team was one of 10 teams participating. Coach Lisa Serfling said, “For a first year team, MHS played competitively and gave it their all. I expect great things from them at next year’s Blue Heron Bowl. They are already talking strategy and are eager to compete again next year.”
