Poplar Branch – Margory Lauretta Gowitzka, 84, of Poplar Branch, North Carolina passed away April 23, 2020 peacefully. She was born September 12, 1935 in Sandusky, Ohio, a daughter of the late Bryan Ray Griffin and Laura Keller Griffin.

“Margie” was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, Aunt and Sister, graduate of Margaretta High School, Castalia, Ohio and was “The Cherry Pie Queen”. She was also a member of Sharon Methodist Church, Poplar Branch, NC, where she also worked with the After School Program. She was a member of many civic organizations and a retired hairdresser and homemaker. She enjoyed listening to “Old time” Country Music and family gatherings with loved ones and friends.

She leaves to cherish her memories: her devoted loving husband of 66 years, Robert “Bob” Gowitzka; daughter, Bobbi Gowitzka Florez and husband, Mike Florez, of Southern Shores, NC; daughter-in-law, Clarice Gowitzka, Castalia, OH; 13 Grandchildren,  Emma, Matt, Andi, Heather, Greg, Deanna, Jessica, Nick, Brooke, Daniel, Liberty, Jill and Elana; 30+ Great-Grandchildren; siblings, two brothers, Rich and Ronney; three sisters, Brenda, Katie and Wendy; several nieces, nephews and cousins.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her two sons, Daniel and Steven Gowitzka; her siblings, six brothers, Otto, Lewis, Daniel, Billy, Paul and Marvin and four sisters, Earlene, JoAnne, Carol and Noreen.
