Dennis Bessey, 72, of Shiloh, died peacefully at home surrounded by his loving family on May 2, 2020. He was born on April 15, 1948 in Brooklyn, NY to the late Rose Morgan Bessey and Herbert Bessey. Dennis was predeceased by two brothers, Herbert Bessey, Thomas Bessey and one sister Lorraine Steyer.
He is survived by daughter Denise R. Post and husband Dan of Aydlett, daughter Deborah L. Pettus and Edward White of Shiloh, and son David A. Bessey and wife Le’Shea Bessey from Currituck; grandchildren Kyle Pettus, Cierra Luna, Caitlin Post; two great-grandchildren and many nieces, nephews and relatives.
After attending high school, he joined the United States Army. After serving the military, he worked most of his life as a computer programmer. After he retired, he worked part time and was able to enjoy playing golf. His favorite course is at Black Head Mountain Lodge and County club, where he was proud of his hole in one.
There will be no funeral service at this time. The family wishes to have a private family service at a later date. Gallop Funeral Services is assisting the family with arrangements. www.gallopfuneralservices.com
