Currituck Extension holds virtual home canning series

NC Cooperative Extension, Currituck County Center is holding a free virtual home canning classes from noon until 1 p.m. via Zoom on Fridays in June. Each class requires pre-registration to receive the zoom link and class materials. Participants will receive prizes for attending class and a canning ebook for registering.

June 26 – Pressure Canning

“Pressure canning can be really scary because your neighbor’s, grandmother’s, sister had her pressure canner explode 30 years ago,” states the class description. “Join us as we take the fear out of pressure canning. As a reminder, a lot of vegetables need to be preserved under pressure. There is no equivalent for water bath canning.”

As a bonus, anyone who signs up for any of the classes will receive information and a video on dehydrating fruit leathers.
