– Deuteronomy 30:20

To experience a sunrise at the ocean is very peaceful and spiritual. A sunrise signals another new beginning. It is the time of day that compares to nothing else. It is a wonderful moment to be quiet with God, to hear His voice and worship Him with our praise and thankfulness. His voice is everywhere. It’s in the beautiful sunrise that slowly emerges from the darkness to tell us He has given us a new day. We can hear His voice in the motion of the ocean waves, full of breath and life. In the sky that offers a canopy of light, His voice is the soft breeze that blows over us. We see the beauty of His creation all around us as another new day unfolds.

The sunrise calls for the early morning riser, the early bird, so to speak, to seek solitude with Him. Everyday He gives us light, beauty and hope. It’s evidence of God’s goodness and presence.  There’s hope that today will be a little bit better than yesterday. That it could be today that we make a difference in someone’s life.  It is today that our desires could be met. Hope sustains us. It is today that the healing we prayed for could take place. It is today that a loved one may surrender to God and become born anew, like the sun at dawn. He gives us so much hope. Psalm 62:5 says, “Find rest, O my soul, in God alone; my hope comes from him.”
