Annie Cox Hollowell, 94, peacefully passed away Saturday, July 18, 2020 at Vidant Inpatient Hospice in Greenville. Born in Elbert County, Georgia on October 29, 1925, she was the daughter of the late Isaac Floyd Cox and Annie Ruth Adams Cox.

Annie retired from R.G. Barry as a quality control inspector. Following her retirement, she enjoyed time spent quilting and crocheting. Annie loved her family and always welcomed the opportunity to spend time with them. A lady of great faith, Annie loved to share the news of her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. She was a member of Pineview Baptist Church in Goldsboro and following her moving to the coast, attended Manteo Faith Baptist Church.

Due to COVID-19, a private graveside service will be held on Wednesday, July 22, 2020 at the Princeton Cemetery.

Annie is survived by her daughters, Edith Lopez of Raleigh, and Faye Lewis and husband, Dean of Manteo; step-daughter, Bernetta Edwards of Princeton; step-son, Rev. Elbert Hollowell of Goldsboro; five grandchildren, Joan Greenberg, Adam Lopez, Lisa Friedman, Kim Hicks, and Susan Williams; six step-grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren, Scarlette Williams, Holden Williams, Lilah Gray Williams, Emmett Williams, and Tiernan Hicks.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Gurney Elmer Hollowell; daughter, Ann Warrick; sons-in-law, Max Warrick and Richard Lopez; step-sons, L.D. Hollowell and Jimmy Hollowell.
