The Roanoke Island Food Pantry recently received a donation from Piggly Wiggly in Manteo on behalf of staff and customers for $272.98. With the recent coin shortage, Piggly Wiggly was unable to make change to some customers. The store kept track of all those instances and donated that amount to the food pantry. “That’s community minded,” stated an announcement from the food pantry. “Thank you for helping us help our neighbors in need.” Shown, from left, are Asiana Pledger, Angela Noffsinger and Bob Noffsinger.
