The Town of Manteo held its first organizational meeting on the proposed Manteo Business Association (MBA) last month on June 8.  “Based upon that meeting, it was clear that there was an interest and a need for this type of organization to support the local businesses and the jobs they create for our residents,” stated a press release from the town.

The town will hold listening sessions for the MBA on Monday, July 27, 2020 to continue with efforts to get the association off the ground.  There will be three time slots – 2, 4 and 6 p.m. – with up to 10 people per time slot allowed in person at Town Hall at 407 Budleigh Street. Those interested in attending should reserve a spot by calling Michele Bunce at 252-473-4101. To join any of the sessions remotely using Zoom, send an email to Bunce at mbunce@manteonc.gov to get the link.

“It had been hoped that we could have a large group meeting during July, but the crowd-gathering restrictions are forcing us to take a different approach with a mix of in-person and online attendance,” continued the release. “Navigating through the different challenges we face as a community takes more than just one organization or business, it truly needs to be a team effort.  As the Town works to support local businesses and employers, these initial meetings and listening sessions will help guide the direction of the new MBA.”
