Duck Fire Chief Donna Black sworn in as IAFC second vice president

Duck Fire Chief Donna Black was sworn in Friday, August 21 as the second vice president for the International Association of Fire Chiefs (IAFC) during this year’s virtual Fire Rescue International.

The IAFC represents the leadership of firefighters and emergency responders worldwide and its members are leading experts in firefighting, emergency medical services, terrorism response, hazardous materials spills, natural disasters, search and rescue and public safety policy.

“Duck Fire could not be prouder that Chief Black has attained this leadership post and know that she will bring her vision and professionalism to ensuring that the IAFC remains a vital organization for both current and future emergency service leaders,” read a statement from Duck Fire Department.

“The Town is very proud of Chief Black and the hard work she’s done to achieve such an important goal,” said Christian Legner, director of public information, marketing and special events for the Town of Duck.
