Getting your Trinity Audio player ready...

This fall, Pocosin Arts School of Fine Craft is offering at-home craft instruction with supply kits to delight everyone in the family. Kits include materials and weekly video instruction led by artists who love to teach.

For ages eighteen and up, “Handbuilding at Home” will have participants learning fundamental ceramic techniques to build three functional ceramic pieces. Finished work can either be dropped off in Manteo or Columbia to be fired.

In “Jewelry & Metalsmithing Basics,” participants will learn to bend, shape and pattern metal to make small jewelry pieces without the use of expensive equipment.

Kits include supplies and weekly, two-hour class sessions using the Zoom video platform. Participants can ask questions and engage with classmates and instructors. Video sessions are recorded so that demonstrations can be reviewed at a later date.

Learn about the “World of Weaving” and have fun with “Puny Clay Play” in Pocosin’s two youth craft kits. For ages 6-18, kits include materials, weekly recorded videos and optional Zoom meet and greets with instructors.  All youth kits are offered to local participants on a “pay what you can afford” basis.
