Due to the COVID-19 pandemic and state restrictions in place to slow the spread of the virus, Bearded Face Productions made the difficult decision to cancel Mustang Rock & Roast 3, stated a press release. The event had been scheduled for this weekend.

“The safety and well-being of our fans, musicians and staff is our top priority, and unfortunately things did not improve enough for us to hold the event we had planned,” said Mike Dianna, producer and owner of Bearded Face Productions. “We are looking forward to hosting our Mustang events in 2021 with hopes of gathering people together again, but right now we ask everyone to show some love to the Mustang Outreach Program.”

Each year, a portion of the proceeds from Mustang Spring Jam and Mustang Rock & Roast go to the Mustang Outreach Program, which is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit whose mission is to encourage and cultivate children’s creativity and individualism through music.

“We believe that musical education is critical to all children’s growth and development,” said Ruth Wyand, Mustang Outreach Program music director and administrator. “Since we started the Mustang Outreach Program in 2012, hundreds of children have learned to play instruments, compose songs, improvise, work together and jam.”

MUSTANG ROCK & ROAST

For the past eight years, over 80 percent of the income needed to sustain the Mustang Outreach Program has come from the Mustang festivals and community concerts. Due to event cancellations in 2020, that income has come to a halt.

To help save the Mustang Outreach Program, Dianna is asking Mustang fans to make a donation.

“The fans and musicians are not the only ones who have suffered from the cancellation of both of our 2020 Mustang events,” said Dianna. “If you were planning to attend Mustang Spring Jam or Mustang Rock & Roast this year, we would deeply appreciate you donating your ticket cost or a portion of your ticket cost to the program. Your generous donations will save this special program and allow us to help the kids keep making music.”

Those interested in supporting the Mustang Outreach Program can make a donation online at MustangOutreachOBX.org or at MustangMusicFestival.com.
