Meleitta Rose Scarborough Austin, 83, of Portsmouth, Va. died October 16, 2020 at Bon Secours Maryview Hospital. She was born September 2, 1937 in Avon to the late Blucher Scarborough and Beulah Gray Scarborough and was the widow of Donald Loyd Austin Sr. She was a homemaker and a member of New Creation Methodist Church and Avon Methodist Church.

She is survived by daughter Joni Austin Tallman (Bob) of Portsmouth, Va.; sons Donald Austin Jr. and Phillip Austin, both of Portsmouth, Va. and grandson Kenny Tallman. She was predeceased by sister Estelle Gray and brother Bulcher Scarborough.

A graveside memorial service will be held October 21 at 1 p.m. in the Scarborough Cemetery, Avon. Twiford Funeral Home, Elizabeth City is assisting the Austin family. Express condolences at www.TwifordFH.com.
