Getting your Trinity Audio player ready...

8/02/1942 – 3/29/2020

Nancy Glynn Wood, 77, also known to Minnie or One-Eye to those who loved and knew her best, went to sleep on March 29, 2020 and woke up in the loving arms of her Lord and Savior. Although Nancy traveled the country alongside her husband Jack throughout his military career, she was a native of Dare County and proudly called Manteo her home.

Nancy was preceded in death by her parents Harold and Abia Glynn and her brother Bill Glynn. She is also now reunited with loving husband and eternal soulmate Jack Lee Wood. Special close friends Linda, Lou, Tish, and Janine preceded her in death as well others that will forever miss her.

Nancy is survived by three daughters Debbie Minton of Columbia, NC, Lynda (Ed) Dick of Pennsylvania, and Courtney (Ronald) Thompson of Bladenboro, NC. She also left behind twelve grandchildren, ten great grandchildren as well as two nephews, Willie (Cathy) Glynn and Howie (Desi) Glynn and a large number of extended family.

To know Nancy was to love her! She had an outgoing personality and a quick-witted sense of humor that was one of a kind. She found humor in any situation that allowed her to bring others as well as herself to see the positive side of even the toughest of situations. Her most admirable quality, though she had many, was her giving heart. Whether it was driving someone to pay bills, cooking meals for the sick, or simply donating money to a good cause. Nancy was a true example of ways to spread the ministry of Jesus.

“To be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord” (2 Corinthians 12:8) is where we will look to for strength during the difficult transition of sending her Home to Heaven as we know she is no longer suffering but is happy and healthy and back with Jack and strolling the streets of Gold. We love you Mamaw, fly high!
