One COVID-19 case reported at Manteo Elementary; 20 quarantining

Dare County Schools Superintendent John Farrelly notified school families on Tuesday afternoon, November 10 that one lab-confirmed case of COVID-19 at Manteo Elementary School.

“Upon initiation of contact tracing, the Dare County Department of Health and Human Services has identified twenty (20) stakeholders who have been identified as direct contacts,” stated Farrelly. “These stakeholders will begin quarantining immediately following North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services guidelines.”

The building will be deep cleaned and sanitized by the district safety team. Manteo Elementary will reopen Thursday, Nov. 12 after Veteran’s Day holiday on Wednesday, Nov. 11.
