Gladys Annette Gallop Sawyer, 85, of Harbinger, died November 23, 2020 at Sentara Norfolk General Hospital. Annette was born March 21, 1935 in Harbinger to the late Russell Lee Gallop and Hilda Mae Owens Gallop. She was preceded in death by husband Nathan Dean Sawyer Sr. and daughter Nanette Sawyer Given and is survived by siblings Walter Gallop Sr., Ginger Bowden and Betty Midgett; children Lynette Sawyer and Nathan Dean Sawyer Jr.; grandchildren Deanna Carriveau (Jon) and James Jackson Given Jr. (Amanda); and a great-grandchild James Jackson Given III.
A graveside memorial service was held November 30. Twiford Funeral Home, Elizabeth City is handling arrangements. www.TwifordFH.com.
