Early morning fire guts unoccupied home in Duck

The Duck Fire Department and Duck Police Department were called to a reported structure fire located at 112 E. Sea Hawk Drive at 3:21 a.m. on Sunday, December 20. According to a press release from the Town of Duck, the unoccupied home was fully involved when first responders arrived.

The Southern Shores Volunteer Fire Department reported the fire was under control in about an hour.

As of 10:40 a.m. Sunday, fire crews are involved in overhaul and cleanup efforts. The cause of the fire is under investigation with the Dare County Fire Marshal.
