Wanchese Lions Club makes donation to help those in need

Wanchese Lions Club Secretary Lion Bob Walton and Wanchese Lion Sean Moore presented a check for $1000 to Elizabeth Silverthorne, president of the Beach Food Pantry.

The Wanchese Lions made the donation to help the many people who are in need this holiday season due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

The club was chartered in February 1980 and has served the Wanchese community since that time.

The club meets every second and fourth Tuesday at 7 p.m. at the Wanchese Community Building on Old Schoolhouse Road in Wanchese. Anyone interested in the work of the Lions Club is welcome to attend.
