Janet Basnight Chambers, 85, of Elizabeth City, died December 27, 2020 at her residence.  A native of Pasquotank County, she was born on October 23, 1935 to the late Nora Wood and Ebert Moody Basnight. She was the wife of Aubrey C. Chambers.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by daughters Diana Lemon and husband John, Darlene Sutter and husband David, Teresa Huie and husband John, and son Samuel Chambers and wife Awilda, eight grandchildren and twenty great-grandchildren.

Janet was predeceased by siblings Arvilla Kelly, Frank Roy Morse and Moody Basnight, and granddaughter Lindsay Michelle Hatcher.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Albemarle Crisis Pregnancy Center, N.O.A.H. Ministries, Inc. or Chase & Kristina Granstaff Missions.
