Peggy Tarkenton DeVane, 78, of Grandy, died December 28, 2020 at her home. Born in Currituck County on September 22, 1942 to the late Chadwick Tarkenton and Marguarite Tatum Tarkenton, she was the widow of Wendell Emile DeVane.

She is survived by sons Todd Cartwright and Gerald Cartwright; and sister Judy Tarkenton Alphin. She was preceded in death by brother Junius Chadwick “Chad” Tarkenton.
