The special meeting of the Dare County Board of Education set for Thursday, January 7 has been moved due to potential COVID-19 quarantine.

Superintendent John Farrelly sent notification of the meeting change late Thursday morning, stating that DCS “learned this morning that multiple Central Office Leaders may have to go into COVID-19 quarantine protocol. Due to potential health concerns and staff availability, the Board of Education has postponed this afternoon’s special called meeting.”

The special called meeting will now be held January 12 at 3 p.m. at First Flight Elementary School. The board’s January business meeting will be held at 5 p.m. Audio of both meetings will be broadcast live over YouTube.
