Did you know one in three American families struggle to afford diapers for their child, according to a survey by Huggies and the National Diaper Bank Network?

Children & Youth Partnership for Dare County (CYP) recognizes that diaper needs are a problem for families in Dare and has set out to collaborate with the community to address it through CYP’s Diaper Bank – a Change for the Better.

CYP has announced its upcoming contactless Diaper Pick-Up to be held Monday, January 11 through Wednesday, January 13 from 9:30 a.m.-6 p.m. at the Center for CYP in Manteo. During this event, Dare County families will be able to receive free diapers to help with their diapering needs.

Diaper sizes available are newborn to size six, while supplies last, with a limit of two packs of diapers per family.

To receive free diapers through CYP’s contactless pick-up event, families will arrive at the Center for CYP, located at 534 Ananias Dare Street in Manteo. Families should call the CYP office at 252-441-0614 to let them know their size needs and will remain in their vehicles. A CYP staff member will bring the needed diapers to a table outside and return to the office. Families can then get out of their vehicles to get their diapers from the table.

Contact CYP at 252-441-0614, visit darekids.org or follow CYP on Facebook at facebook.com/cypdarekids for more information about this and upcoming distributions.

CYP has held ten diaper distribution events since launching CYP’s Diaper Bank in May 2020, with the help of the Outer Banks Community Foundation and several other individuals, businesses and organizations.

CYP is accepting tax-deductible monetary donations and donations of unopened diapers for CYP’s Diaper Bank. Visit darekids.org/blog/cyps-diaper-bank to learn more.
