Sylvia Blaine (Simon) Autry or “Sib” as many knew her, of Manteo, NC entered into eternal life January 15, 2021 at the age of 81. She was previously a resident of Palmyra Township, Ohio for over 60 years.

Born September 9, 1939 in Valley Bend, West Virginia, Sib was the daughter of the late Arnet and Maysell (Phillips) Simon and was also predeceased by her sister, Dorothy Poling.

Sylvia married Jack Lee Autry July 9, 1960. The two enjoyed a loving and devoted marriage of 45 years until his passing in 2006. In Sib’s remarkable life, she enjoyed travelling, gardening, reading, and spending time with family and friends. She was also employed by her son-in-law, Dr. Daniel Jones of Vision Care of Lake Milton and Portage Vision Care for 12 years as a receptionist. Pleasant and friendly, Sylvia enjoyed working with patients and never failed to greet them with her beautiful smile and a listening ear.

Sib’s faith in Christ sustained her throughout her life; growing deeper as her mind and body changed over the past few years. She was a devoted and proud mom to her three children, Jack Eric Autry (Dru); Julie Autry Jones (Daniel), and Kevin Blaine Autry (Karen); Grandma “Sibbie” to four grandchildren, Corey, Codey, Carli and Megan; and great-granddaughter, Luna. Also surviving, are numerous nieces and nephews and extended family members and her sister, Carol Rogers (Jack).

Family and friends may attend a visitation Saturday, January 23, 2021 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Wood – Kortwright – Borkoski Funeral Home at 703 East Main St., Ravenna, Ohio. The funeral will follow at 1 p.m. with Mr. Mark Lattimer officiating. The interment will be at Palmyra Cemetery. Masks are required and COVID-19 protocols will be enforced.
