February 25, 1953 – January 19, 2021

Terence “Terry” Patrick McLaughlin, 67, of Winterville, NC, died Tuesday, January 19, 2021, at his residence.

Mr. McLaughlin, born February 25, 1953, was the son of Bob and Grace McLaughlin. He was married to Sherri Mealor McLaughlin, who survives.

Terry spent his working years in the banking industry and served as a Vice President. He worked for First Citizens and The East Carolina Bank. Terry will be remembered for his blue eyes and dry sense of humor.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by two sons, Scott McLaughlin and wife Megan of Zebulon and Jason McLaughlin of Columbia; a stepson, Shawn Furman, and stepdaughter, Kristen Mealor; and grandchildren, Allie Grace McLaughlin, and Graham McLaughlin.

A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m., Sunday, January 24, 2021, at the Oakwood Cemetery in Columbia, NC. The family will visit with friends at Wesley Memorial UMC annex, immediately following the service.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his memory to the NC Spinal Cord Injury Association at 7980 Chapel Hill Rd., Suite 101, Cary, NC  27513, or the Autism Society of NC at 5121 Kingdom Way, Suite 100, Raleigh, NC 27607.
