COVID vaccine second dose clinic set in Currituck County

Those who received their first vaccination shot on Jan. 6 in Currituck County may now register for a second dose clinic set for Tuesday, Jan. 26 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. at Community Park in Maple.

Those who come to the second dose clinic must bring the card given when they received their first vaccination shot.

Participants should register online for the second dose clinic using the same county link where they received their first dose to make sure the vaccine brand of the second dose matches the first dose. (i.e. Pfizer or Moderna): http://www.arhs-nc.org/information/COVID-19/vaccines/

Future second dose clinics will be announced as they are scheduled. There must be at least 20 days between receiving the two doses, so this clinic is only for those who received their first vaccination shot on Jan. 6.

Currituck County has announced that so far, approximately 4,000 COVID vaccination doses have been administered in Currituck County.

“We thank Albemarle Regional Health Services, the National Guard, and all of our county staff and volunteers for their tireless efforts,” stated a post from Currituck County. “As we continue with vaccination clinics, please have patience and understand that this is a major undertaking that requires great coordination and manpower.”

Currituck will continue to operate its call center at 252-232-2115 to help answer questions.
