Bert Tran Forbes, 92, of Kitty Hawk, died January 30, 2021 at the family home. Born in Cedar Keys, Fla., Tran was the son of the late Frank Bell and Lillian Gertrude Forbes.  He was also preceded in death by sister Bertie Sanders and brothers Frank Forbes and Cecil Forbes.

Tran served his country honorably in the United States Army.

Mr. Forbes is survived by wife Audrey Roberts Forbes, daughters Stella Bateman (Scott), Diane Kent (Mark) and Colleen Holloman (David); sister Marie Lane; brothers Joseph Forbes and Johnnie Forbes; grandchildren Savannah Turonis (William), Ethan Bateman, Nicholas Bateman (Anastasiia), Caden Bateman, Bobby Holloman, Jeffrey Harrell, David Holloman and wife Grace and Steven Holloman.

Tran’s graveside funeral service will be held at Waterlily Cemetery in Coinjock on February 3 at 11 a.m. Pastor Heath Jackson will officiate. COVID-19 precautions will be enforced. Condolences may be expressed at www.gallopfuneralservices.com.
