Robert Samuel Cockrell, 76, of Grandy, died February 5, 2021 at Chippenham Hospital in Richmond, Va.

Robert was born in Richmond to the late James T. Cockrell and the late Gertrude F. Cockrell. He was also preceded in death by daughter Kristen Cockrell Day and brother Thomas Cockrell.

Robert served his country honorably in the United States Army during the Vietnam Era.

Robert Cockrell is survived by wife Pamela B. Cockrell; son Kevin Michael Cockrell; grandson Ronald Gray Sweatman III; brother Charles Cockrell (Barbara), sister Carolyn Melesky (Wayne), sisters-in-law Margaret Cockrell and Gloria Crone (Roger); other family and friends.

Robert’s memorial service, with military honors, will be held at 2 p.m. on February 27 at Gallop Memorial Chapel in Barco. Masks are required for attendance and all COVID safety measures will be enforced.
