Myrna R. Barrett, 82, died February 12, 2021. Mrs. Barrett was born in Kinston to the late Elbert Lake Rouse Jr. and Ruth Elizabeth Hamilton. She is predeceased by husband James Arnold Barrett. Myrna lived in Currituck with her daughter and son-in-law Windy and Tony Dongarra and grandchildren Jesse and Colleen. She is predeceased by daughter Karen Renee Furman.

She is survived by stepmother Frances Rouse; daughter Windy Dongarra, sons-in-law Tony Dongarra and Richard Furman; brother Elbert Lake Rouse III; stepsister Diane Jarman; grandchildren Anthony, Colleen, Jennifer, Jesse and Troy; and five great-grandchildren.

The family has arranged a private funeral service to be held in Currituck. Mrs. Barrett will then be laid to rest next to her husband at Moyock Memorial Cemetery in Moyock.
