John 9:11, He replied, “The man they call Jesus made some mud and put it on my eyes. He told me to go to Siloam and wash. So I went and washed, and then I could see.”

This man has a powerful testimony, a story to tell. When you think about it, we all have a story to tell, don’t we? We like to hear people tell about how God stepped in and renewed their lives; they were addicted to drugs, in prison, an unwed mother, in a gang or whatever. And God came through in a mighty way and rescued them from that lifestyle. Now, others might not think their story is not all that great, maybe we grew up in the church, never got into any trouble, had good grades in school, obeyed our parents and so forth. But think about it.

This guy doesn’t embellish anything, he doesn’t go off on a lot of tangents, there is nothing extra in his account. It is cut and dried; the man they call Jesus made some mud, put it on my eyes, told me to go and wash, I did and then I could see. It is just the facts, none of his thoughts, nothing about why this man was spitting and smearing mud on his eyes, nothing about this being disgusting. There is no description about how his vision came back, about seeing his parents, his wife, his child and so forth. He simply states that Jesus made me see, made me whole.

That is all we need to concentrate on as well. Think about it, what has Jesus done for you, really? Maybe you are the person with the spellbinding testimony involving guns, drugs, women and so forth. Praise the Lord he brought you out of that. But maybe you were in church the first Sunday after you were born and maybe you continued to go every Sunday. You were the good girl, baptized early, faithful after that, serving where you could, and so forth. Praise the Lord he protected you from the evils of the world! There is nothing that makes one testimony better or more powerful than another. And remember, the real power behind any testimony is God himself. So be bold, share your story and give God the glory!

Father, thank you for bring me to this point. In Jesus’ name, amen.
