Kitty Hawk Rotary will use a portion of these funds to support Interfaith Community Outreach, which provides assistance to people on the Outer Banks facing a temporary emergency crisis. In addition, Kitty Hawk Rotary provides scholarships to First Flight seniors, participates in Ruthie’s Kitchen and purchased swimming jackets and childcare equipment for the YMCA.  During the season, club members clean a section of the Kitty Hawk beach and help to plant sea grass in Duck. “The busier, the better for this group,” stated the event announcement.

“Times have been tough for everyone and raising money has been no different,” the announcement continued. “If you see a Rotary fundraising event, please consider supporting it. The money will be helping your neighbors. The four clubs continue to be a vital part of our community. As they continue to see the light at the end of the tunnel, Kitty Hawk Rotary will be there to assist wherever possible. The members live their motto of Service Above Self.”
