Island Farm will open for its 2021 season on Tuesday, April 6. A living history farmstead, Island Farm interprets the life of early Outer Bankers from the mid-1800s, when just over 400 people inhabited Roanoke Island.

On opening day, visitors can expect live blacksmithing, self-guided house tours, cooking demonstrations and plenty of farm animals to see. Younger guests will find a large offering of toys and games, including hoop and stick, quoits and tug of war.

Island Farm stated it “continues its safety practices and extensive cleaning protocols to ensure staff and visitor safety.”
