Members of the Manteo Rotary Club recently presented a “display” check to Friends of Jockey’s Ridge and had an opportunity to see the sponsorship plaque on the boardwalk.

The club recently gave $500 for the boardwalk enhancement project. Friends of Jockey’s Ridge is a nonprofit organization established in 1990 for the support and maintenance of programs and the development of facilities of Jockey’s Ridge State Park. The group’s mission is to support, enhance and promote Jockey’s Ridge State Park as a significant geologic feature of the Outer Banks.

Shown above, from left, are Al Friedman, Manteo Rotary Club and Friends of Jockey’s Ridge board member; Mike O’Brien, Friends of Jockey’s Ridge board chair; Robin Hallac, Friends of Jockey’s Ridge executive director; Julie Walter, Friends of Jockey’s Ridge board member and secretary; and Joy Greenwood, Jockey’s Ridge State Park superintendent.
