Bonni Henderson, of Kill Devil Hills, died April 21, 2021.

Bonni was born in Elizabeth City on July 17, 1958 to Helen Forbes Jennings Midgett and the late James Preston Jennings. She was the granddaughter of the late Helen and Willie Forbes of Shiloh and Elizabeth and James Jennings of Norfolk, Va.

In addition to husband Dale and mother Helen, Bonni is survived by son Robert Lee Forbes (Michelle); grandchildren Jacob, Ally, Zach, Cash, Dean, Garret and Jackson; sisters Cindi Marshall, Susan Pealo, Sally Lacovelli (Jeff), Joan Peak and Katy Prince (Tommy); great aunts Marguerite Forbes and Dorothy Lee Kight; and a host of nieces and nephews, cousins and friends.

A celebration of Bonni’s life will be held at 11 a.m. on May 1 at the Kitty Hawk Pier. A reception will follow at Atlantic Realty in Kitty Hawk.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the Outer Banks SPCA in Bonni’s memory. The SPCA can be reached at obxspca.org or 252-475-5620.
