National Day of Prayer observance set for May 6 at the Dare Courthouse

The National Day of Prayer is set for Thursday, May 6, 2021.

In Dare County, the observance starts at noon at the Dare County Justice Center, located at 962 Marshall C. Collins Dr. in Manteo.

Collaborating churches are Manteo First Assembly of God, which is providing music; The Ark Church; Wanchese Assembly of God; The Source Church and Mount Olivet United Methodist Church. Also participating is Outer Banks Dare Challenge.

Bleachers will be available. The program is expected to last about an hour. Attendees are asked to bring a mask.

Nationally, this is the 70th year of observing the National Day of Prayer, held annually on the first Thursday of May. People of all faiths are invited to the observance.
