Presentation of Homecoming Court caps off Spirit Week at Cape Hatteras Secondary

At Cape Hatteras Secondary School, 2021 Spirit Week finished with a presentation of this year’s Homecoming Court and the awarding of the Spirit Stick.

Tapped as King and Queen are sophomore Alan Garcia and senior Eliza Quidley, who will be attending North Carolina State University next fall.

Prince and Princess are junior Teddy Harmon and sophomore Lily Ratliff, who also received the school’s Inspire the Fire Award.

This year’s Duke and Duchess are senior Trey Jennette, who will be attending College of The Albemarle, and junior Emma Delmonte.

Completing the royal court for the Class of 2021 are Chaz Mackenzie, hoping to attend University of North Carolina at Greensboro, and Jorah Midgette, who will attend Elon University, Charlie Conner, attending fire school, Rubie Shoemaker and Victor Caldera, both of whom are going to Appalachian State University, and Evan Augustson who will be heading to California to attend Santa Barbara City College.

Victor Caldera also received the school’s Inspire the Fire Award.

On the royal court for the Class of 2022 are Osmar Padilla, Yoselyn Gabriel, Jose Briones and Catherine Rebollo.

Court representatives for the Class of 2023 are Lucas Blankenship and Chloe Flythe and for the Class of 2024, Calvin Harris and Taylor Mabry.

The Class of 2024 won the Spirit Stick and the best mini-float contest titled “We are the Champions.” Winning the door decorating contest was the door to Alicia Minns’ classroom. During Spirit Week, days were designated PJs day, sports day, class colors day and red and black day.

The ceremony was held April 29 in the campus gymnasium with family members present.
