The Manteo Rotary Club contributed $500 towards the Outer Banks Forever “Artist in Community” (Cape Hatteras National Seashore) project. The project will include two 6-week artist residencies in the spring and fall of each year during which artists have the opportunity to live in the Outer Banks national parks and have an immersive experience as they create through their chosen art form; 2021 will be the inaugural year of this program. As a kickoff, both artists chosen to participate in the program will be local Outer Banks artists.

Going forward, one residency each year will be dedicated to a local Outer Banks artist and the second residency will bring in an artist from outside of the Outer Banks community to help diversify the experience for both locals and visitors.
