Grilled barbecue chicken lunch, raffle to benefit Harris family

The Swan Quarter Volunteer Fire Department will hold a benefit lunch for the Bud and Arleen Harris family on Wednesday, June 2 from 11 a.m. until 2 p.m. at the station, located at 25 Oyster Creek Road.

Grilled barbecue chicken, buttered potatoes, green beans, dessert and ice tea will be included for $8 per plate. Limited seating will be available inside the dining room or meals are available for take out.

“Please wear your masks and social distance while you are in the building,” stated the event announcement.

Additional donations to help the Harris Family are encouraged, stated the announcement. A separate benefit raffle for the family is currently underway with the drawing to take place at 2:30 on June 2 at the station. Tickets are $10 each for a chance at a Calcutta Renegade 75 quart cooler and fresh seafood including shrimp, fresh fish, scallops, soft crabs, crabmeat and soft crab nuggets.
