Both land use updates and the purchase agreement are posted on darenc.com, under Board of Commissioners, through a link on the left side of the page to the meeting packet.

Six ordinances in the Dare County Code of Ordinances are impacted by land use updates. The county ordinances affected are airport, flood damage prevention, planning and development, subdivisions, signs and zoning.

The asset purchase agreement is with Adoration Home Health Care Virginia, LLC, an affiliate of Res-Care, Inc., d/b/a BrightSpring Health Services.

“If approved, the Asset Purchase Agreement will effectively sell substantially all of the assets utilized in the operation of Dare County’s home health and hospice agency, Dare Home Health & Dare Hospice, to BrightSpring,” states the agenda item.

The sale date is on or before Aug. 1, 2021. In the adopted fiscal year 2022 budget, no funding was included for the operation of Dare Home Health & Hospice. If the sale is affirmed or denied, the county needs a budget to continue operations for at least a month. A budget amendment is proposed.

Under the consent agenda, the commissioners will consider six items.
