Crews extinguish Kill Devil Hills structure fire

The Kill Devil Hills Fire Department responded to a report of a structure fire on the 200 block of East Hayman Street on Wednesday, June 30, 2021, at 6:59 p.m. On arrival, the Kill Devil Hills fire crew reported a large fire on the back of the structure, stated a press release from the Kill Devil Hills Fire Department.

Fire crews from Colington and Kitty Hawk fire departments, the Kill Devil Hills Police Department and Dare County EMS were also on scene and assisted in the operation.

The fire was extinguished and contained to the rear and side of the structure on the first and second floors, deck and siding. The fire did spread into the structure.

There were no injuries.

Kill Devil Hills Fire Marshal John Risoldi Sr. is investigating to determine the fire origin and cause.
