Mary Dowdy Waterfield, of Powells Point, died July 2, 2021 at home after a brief illness.  “Mary Lee,” as she was best known, was born September 17, 1945. She was predeceased by parents Richard Norris and Elsie Mae Dowdy, son Mitchell Waterfield and husband Kenny Waterfield.

Mary Lee Waterfield is survived by children Ken, Kim, Mary Kay and Karen and grandchildren Haley, Sarah and William.

A graveside celebration of life will be held at 4 p.m. on July 11 at the Powells Point Baptist Church Cemetery. The Rev. Ronnie Wyatt will officiate.  In lieu of flowers, donations in Mary’s memory may be made to Albemarle Home Health and Hospice.
