Swan Quarter Volunteer Fire Department sets groundbreaking ceremony, open house

The Swan Quarter Volunteer Fire Department will hold a groundbreaking ceremony for their new Lake Comfort Substation on Saturday, July 17. Activities will take place at 149 NC 94 beginning at 10:30 a.m.

Following the groundbreaking, the SQVFD will host an open house beginning at noon at their current station, located at 25 Oyster Creek Road in Swan Quarter, in celebration of their 50th anniversary.

The open house will include a short presentation. Refreshments will be served.

Get the latest headlines sent to you

Plans for the new substation will be on display. Visitors are encouraged to walk through the current facility and to inspect the department’s equipment fleet that will be on display outside.

SQVFD members and volunteers will be on hand to answer questions.

The public is invited to attend both of these historic events.
