Dorothy Sarver Matlock, 76, of Manteo, died August 8, 2021 at Sentara Virginia Beach General Hospital.

A native of Pennington Gap, Va., she was born February 4, 1945 to the late Nettie Shell Sarver and Charles Sarver.

Survivors include daughter Terry Anderson; son Jim Matlock; brother Kelton Sarver (Katy); sister Helen Bramer (Jim); and other family members.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by husband James Campbell “Cam” Matlock; brother Ray Sarver (Pat); sister Juanita Sarver Miles (Arville); and nephew Fred Sarver Jr. (Kim).

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital or the Elizabethan Gardens in Manteo.
