Leigh Whitfield “Buddy” Johnson Jr., 71, of Nags Head, died August 7, 2021 at home. Born December 19, 1949 in Franklin, Va., he was the son of Leigh Sr. and Iva Cummings.

Buddy is survived by his wife Hollis, sister and brother-in-law Laura Tee and Terry Atherton and other family and friends.

Plans are pending for Buddy’s memorial celebration which will be held in the fall.
