USCG Station Oregon Inlet comes to aid of capsized boat with assistance from Rock Solid, Dare EMS

Coast Guard Station Oregon Inlet has reported that Station Oregon Inlet Watchstander received a call at 9:37 Friday morning, August 20 from Sector NC informing that there was a capsized 23’ Sea Pro with three people in the water, including one who had a head injury, at the Oregon Inlet bar.

“Our 47’ Motor Lifeboat quickly got underway to assist the people in distress. A Good Samaritan vessel, Rock Solid also responded to the distress call,” stated a post from USCG Station Oregon Inlet. “At 0955 our 47’ MLB and vessel Rock Solid arrived on scene. The 47’ MLB proceeded to pull two people off of the overturned hull prioritizing the person with the head injury. Rock Solid had recovered the third which we transferred to the 47’ MLB and then returned back to Station Oregon Inlet with Dare County EMS waiting at the pier.”
