Gary Lynn Cook, 69, of Elizabeth City, died August 23, 2021 at home. He was born in Scottfield, Ill. on September 1, 1951 to the late Gilbert Scott Cook and Edna Potter Cook Keel.

Survivors include wife Norma Newton Cook, daughters Casey Cook Byrum (David) and Jennifer Cook Simpson (Josh); son Christopher Edward Collier (Jessica); sister Odessa Jones (Roger); brother Gilbert Scott Cook Jr. “Bussy” of Stacey; and grandchildren Sydnee, Adalynn, Harper, Haiven, Grant, Gabby, Gavin and Gage. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by son Cary Lynn Cook.

A memorial service will be held at 3 p.m. on August 27 at Twiford Memorial Chapel. Family will receive visitors immediately following the service.
