No injuries reported in Wednesday morning collision involving school bus

Kill Devil Hills Police Department officers responded to a vehicle collision involving a Dare County Schools bus and another motor vehicle on Wednesday morning, September 21.

The collision occurred in the 3200 block of N. Croatan Highway (US 158) at approximately 7:54 a.m. According to KDHPD, bus 109 was traveling south on US 158. A yellow jeep turning right (south) from Cameron Street onto US 158 pulled out as the bus was passing, colliding with the rear end of the bus.

No injuries were reported by bus passengers or to the occupant of the yellow Jeep, according to KDHPD. Minor damage to both vehicles was reported.

Seventeen students from First Flight Middle School and First Flight High School as well as the driver were in the bus.

The driver of the Jeep was cited for unsafe movement violation.
