Jill Leigh Beatty, 57, of Kill Devil Hills, NC passed away unexpectantly on September 10, 2021, at Chesapeake General Hospital. Jill was a property and casualty agent at the Willey Agency in Nags Head since the early 2000’s. Jill grew up in Lumberton, NC and graduated from Lumberton Senior High School.

Jill moved to the Outer Banks in 1985 and worked at Planters Bank and the Wright Brothers Memorial. Jill most enjoyed raising her daughter, Emily Lyster and spending time with her sister, Leslie and nieces and nephews. Jill loved the beach, laying in the sun, and shopping for useful items at thrift stores and yard sales that she thought someone could use. She bought gifts for the Angel Tree and the residents of Britthaven (now Peak Resources) every Christmas. She loved decorating her home and hanging out with her cat, Buster. Jill loved cooking on holidays for family and friends. Jill had an easy laugh and made everyone she met whether family, friends or customers feel special to her. Jill will be missed by all that knew her.

Jill is survived by her daughter, Emily Bliss Lyster and sister, Leslie Avery and her husband, Glenn Avery, her sister-in-law, Linda Beatty of Kill Devil Hills, her nieces, Amy Austin of Richmond, VA, Rhianna Vadukul of Hong Kong and Ashley Bishop of Elizabeth City, NC and nephews, Bobby Austin of Idaho and Christopher and Derek Avery, and Charlie Beatty of Kill Devil Hills. Jill was preceded in death by her parents, C. Arnold and Rose Beatty of Lumberton, NC and brothers Alan Bass of Fayetteville, NC and Stephen Beatty of Kill Devil Hills, NC and her sister Mary Francis Austin of Charlotte, NC and all her great-nieces and nephews.
