The Town of Duck, which organizes the Duck Jazz Festival presented by PNC, has announced the postponement of the event until October 8 and 9, 2022.

“In consultation with health officials and our presenting sponsor in addition to new guidance by the North Carolina Department of Health and Human Resources (NCDHHS) on events and festivals, organizers reviewed the health, safety, and logistical concerns related to the recent surge in COVID-19 cases,” stated a Town of Duck press release.

Under new guidance, the setup, flow, and reduced schedule able to be safely offered by the Duck Jazz Festival would not allow for the same interaction with community members and artists that are a hallmark of this event, stated the release: “Organizers have opted to postpone the festival in order to offer the best, and safest, event possible.”

“We understand how much those that live, work, and visit our community look forward to this annual event,” the release continued. “Thank you to all of the sponsors and volunteers that have continued to support us over the years and the attendees that have brought so much excitement to the Duck Town Park. We urge everyone to follow the guidance of your health officials so that we can safely celebrate the return of jazz to Duck in 2022.”
