Robert “Bob” Owen Batten, 62, of Kill Devil Hills, NC, passed away on September 30, 2021. Bob was born on November 10, 1958, in Parkersburg, WV to parents Frederic Samuel Batten and Patricia Ann Batten, both deceased. He moved his family to the Outer Banks in the early ’90s, where they found their true home.

He is survived by his two daughters and their families – Trish and Dave Lusk, his granddaughters Hazel and Autumn, and Christina and Jeremy McPherson, and his three grandsons Easton, Chase, and Trent Jones Jr. He is also survived by his brother, Samuel Batten, sister-in-law Deborah Batten, and niece Elise Batten.

Bob, more affectionately known as “Diddy” to many who loved him, had an electric smile that affected all around him. He never knew a stranger, befriending everyone that crossed his path. He loved the beach and spending his time outdoors. His joking manner and constant smile will be missed by those around him.
